Resumen
Este artigo avalia a importância das políticas públicas para a sustentabilidade dos assentamentos rurais noestado do Ceará. Dos programas avaliados na pesquisa, somente o acesso ao crédito atingiu uma parte considerável da população, enquanto que as parcerias institucionais são insuficientes para estimular o desenvolvimento dos assentamentos, assim como a assistência técnica, que é oferecida a 9,7% dos assentamentos. O estudo aponta para a necessidade de elaboração de políticas públicas para favorecer a sustentabilidade dos assentamentos, sem, entretanto, estimular uma dependência completa do Estado.Palavras-chave: Assentamentos rurais, sustentabilidade, políticas públicas, Ceará.PUBLIC POLICIES AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: the reality of the settlements of the agrarian reform in CearáAbstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the importance of public policies considering the sustainability of land settlements in the state of Ceará. Of the programs evaluated in the research, the access to the public credit for the purpose mentioned only reached a considerable part of the population, whereas the institutional partnerships are insufficient to stimulate the development of the settlements, as well as to enhance technique assistance, that reaches only 9.7% of the settlements.
