Resumen
The objective of this article is firstly to reflect on the role of elites in the territories, through the production of power, the generation of identity, the creation of internal and external borders and the construction of State. Secondly, this article confirms this reflection, showing the role of three elite families in Osorno during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, demonstrating how their actions influence the country?s southern territory.
